Bohemian Susie

I grew up in rural South Dakota and Minnesota. I loved to create from the nature around me. Pinecones, flowers, twigs, feathers, mud, etc., were my craft supplies.

I was brought up in a “waste not, want not” environment. Because that was instilled deeply in my life, it has impacted my crafting career; I am always looking for ways to use old, once-treasured items.

As I grew, I began to make jewelry, weaving, macramé, and fiber art. I began to sell my handcrafted treasures in local stores. As the years went on I sold at local art fairs, demonstrated at county fairs, and even did home parties. Years later, my brother and I, opened a vintage store called The Blue Rooster Shoppe in Alexandria, MN. I could take old rusty items, fabric, and barn wood, to create treasures. Now I enjoy making all kinds of art. Having more time to create for my passions, I fill my days working on many different crafts. I love to share them and be part of the local stores.
