Where it all began...
This is the story behind Bohemian Susie…
Growing up in rural South Dakota and Minnesota, I loved creating with the nature around me. Pinecones, flowers, twigs, feathers, and mud served as my primary craft supplies.
I grew up in a “waste not, want not” environment. This deeply ingrained value shapes my crafting career today, driving me to find new ways to reuse old, once-treasured items.
As I grew, I expanded my skills into jewelry making, weaving, macramé, and fiber art, eventually selling my handcrafted treasures in local stores. Over the years, I brought my work to local art fairs, demonstrated my process at county fairs, and even hosted home parties. Later on, my brother and I opened a vintage store called The Blue Rooster Shoppe in Alexandria, MN. There, I transformed old rusty items, fabric, and barn wood into beautiful treasures. Today, I channel my energy into creating all kinds of art. With more time to dedicate to my passions, I fill my days working on diverse crafts, sharing them proudly with local shops.
Please take time to explore some of My Treasures.
